科目名(英語表記) Japanese Finance and Economy
授業の概要・ねらい Understanding the unique features of the Japanese economy and financial system is important given the increasing trends toward economic globalisation. The Japanese asset bubble and its burst can shed light on the interrelations between banking crises, asset valuation, investment expenditure, corporate finance and monetary policy. The challenges posed by financial crises in terms of the coordination of socio-economic and monetary policies provide some valuable lessons for other developed nations. Some theoretical perspectives are discussed based on relevant information from economic and monetary institutions and Thomson Reuters Datastream. The analysis can be useful in understanding the dynamics of the Japanese economy and global finance. Given the implications of economic uncertainty and financial instability for global business management, this course serves also the purposes of the integrated programs of Corporate Analysis and Evaluation, and Global Business and Economy.
